Audlem Cricket Club held its end-of-season Dinner and Presentation Evening at the White Lion, Hankelow. Chairman, John Eve, highlighted a successful season both on and off the pitch. He pointed out that the large number of abandoned matches had spoilt the chances of promotion for both teams in the Cheshire Cricket Alliance. On the plus side however, there wasn't one Saturday where both teams didn't have eleven players – something that hasn't happened for many years.
He added that during the close season the Club hoped to carry out drainage work on the outfield. This would hopefully alleviate any future problems similar to those that had been experienced during this year's wet summer
He also thanked Simon Banks for resurrecting the Junior Section, ably assisted by Steve Farnell. This venture had proved successful despite the poor weather and would be the lifeblood of the Club, hopefully providing players for the future.
The playing awards for the season were as follows:
Best batting average – 1st XI – Tom Measures (46.30)
Best bowling average – 1st XI – Rich Brown (6.77)
Best batting average – 2nd XI – Toby Banfield (27.20)
Best bowling average – 2nd XI – John Chadwick (9.31)
Most improved player – James Hindle
Players' player of the year – Tom Measures
