The following Chatbox comment arrived from Lily the Pink and will be of interest to many using British Gas – clearly for electricity only if you live locally as they never got round to providing gas in Audlem!
Lily says: "Has anyone else had this problem? I returned home from business to find a bill from British Gas for Electricity (I pay monthly on direct debit ) for £7000.00!
"After picking myself up off the floor, I have spoken to them this morning to find a right mucky tail – British Gas have subbed out all meter readings to guess who – G4S!
"Supposedly they did a meter reading at my house, (the meter is located internally ) when I was out of the country last year.......and gave a meter reading that was totally false and amounted to £7000 of usage.
"Please be aware if you get a bill like this that is probably in error, as this could cause a lot of distress and undue worry."
