Early votes in the new Poll about weight limits on Audlem's main roads are saying "Yes" – 93% are in favour so far.

The A525 through Audlem has now been removed from the Primary Route Network, the routes used by long-distance HGVs. This means heavy trucks should use alternative routes instead of driving through the village.

To help enforce this, weight limits are being considered for some or all of Audlem's bridges. These weight limits will not affect farm vehicles and will still allow access for local deliveries, but are aimed purely at the long-distance trucks. Do you agree with weight limits on the A525 and A529 roads through Audlem?

You can vote by clicking on the question on the Homepage unless, of course, you've already voted. The response to the poll will be used as part of the discussions with the Highway authorities if, or when depending on the result, an application for weight limits is made.
