Hi Whilst trawling away through Ancestry.co.uk, whiling away the hours, I stumbled across some Cadman family connections.

The Cadmans were close friends of the Jones family going back to the early 1900's. The were also connected to the Hamnett, Smith and Poole families (Robert and Ann Poole). I sent some photos with some info over to David Cadman in Western Australia, he then forwarded it to his cousin Joan Washington in Victoria, Australia.

She was very soon in touch and was fascinated that some one remembered the Cadmans. Joan's Grandmother was Mildred Cadman the oldest of 10 children born on the corner of Paddock Lane, and Wood Orchard Lane. She emigrated to Australia many years ago. Joan was particularly interested in Llewellyn (Louis) the the oldest son.

It turns out that Anne Poole had several photos of the Cadmans including several of Louis together with many memories. Joan and her late husband visited Audlem in 1992 chasing her ancestors.

When they were here they took several photos (enclosed). Notice the village has changed very little in 28 years. I have introduced her to AOL I think she's hooked now.

Maybe you could give this story a mention on AOL It makes a nice change from the gloom that's hanging over us.

Kind Regards.Ian

Ed: Fascinating – so we now have more readers from down under.
