A reminder that less than 2 weeks remain to respond to the Consultation on Cheshire East's Supported Bus Service review; the closing date is 26 July 2017.
As stated in earlier articles on this subject the Review indicates that all bus services to and from Audlem could be negatively affected. If you, your friends and family are bus users it is important that you make representations against the proposed reduction of our (already inadequate) bus service so public opinion will be clear.
The proposals include the following changes:
It is impossible to tell whether the afternoon (term-time only) service will continue from the information given.
The service will terminate at Audlem Square. This means that the five buses per day to/from Lightwood Green (four of which continue to Whitchurch) will cease.
There is no change to the first bus of the day (although it looks as if it may not go to Buerton). The last bus of the day will be 17.05 from Nantwich, returning from Audlem at 17.31. Currently there are three hourly services after this up until 20.05/20.31.
The service will be 'approximately every two hours', meaning six buses per day, rather than the current ten.
The single service on a Wednesday will be withdrawn.
The single service on a Friday will be withdrawn.
Full details of the proposals can be found by clicking here, and there is an opportunity to respond with your views online. If you would like the information in another format please call 0300 123 55 00
Councillors have arranged for questionnaires to be available in Williams' Newsagents (together with addressed envelopes) and the Medical Practice – completed surveys can be returned to FREEPOST Plus RSJJ-YTHC-CHZK, Research and Consultation, Cheshire East Council, Westfields, Middlewich Road CW11 1HZ
The Parish Council will be making a formal response to the proposals before the deadline.
