Volunteers with C&RT (Canal & River Trust) were hard at work on Wednesday evening's Mid Week Task Force on the canal in Audlem.

Volunteer Derek Jones said: "Now the lighter evenings (British Summer Time) are here again, we are taking advantage and using the time to meet up, as we did last year, to progress our work programme on the Audlem flight of locks."

"On Wednesday evening, as the photographs show, we worked in and around lock 12, the access tow paths and the road bridge, wood staining and painting fences, plus clearing weeds and mud from the walkways.

"As normal, Dek updated us with the safe method of work and all associated risks for the evenings task. He also kept us supplied with food and drinks (non alcoholic)."
