Good Morning Audlem, as normal the Volunteer Lock Keepers / Lock Rangers based in Audlem met in their covered accommodation on Friday 11th October.

Our full time Team Leader 'Ange' carried out her normal safety brief to cover the planned systems of work for the days activities.

This included a programme to clear tree debris and overgrown bushes from the off side of the town pound, brush lock quadrants, litter pick the flight of locks and assist boat traffic.

Also some of the group were involved in cutting back overgrown 'bushes and associated undergrowth' from the entrance to the Shroppie Fly Pub car park.

As normal the group of volunteers split into separate groups (8 of us on duty today)

You will also please note that the grass bank between the canal tow path and the side of the Bridge Inn has also been cut back (I hasten to add that this area was cleared by 'Fountains' the main landscape contractor for the Canal & River Trust, so the 'A Team' are unable to take credit for this work.

As usual the day went well in spite of the 'odd' heavy rain shower, please find photographs attached of the team.

Also as a point of interest 'Robbo' yes our 'resident chef' who not only 'rattles the pans' and is also known for 'penning the odd poem' has now turned his attentions to another 'skill' – well done 'Robbo'...........or should we say a 'Budding Banksy'

All programmes of work for the day were covered and we then returned to the safety of our covered accommodation 'a little damp' for hot teas and coffee.

Our next planned monthly task force day will be on Friday 8th November 2019 with a 10:00 start time, as always, you are more than welcome to join us for the day.
