Audlem's teams returned to winning ways with back to back victories last weekend.

The Saturday X1 played hosts to high flying Rode Park and Lawton and came out of the encounter with a hard earned victory by the margin of 3 wickets. Chris Shenton again won the toss and decided to let the visitors bat first hoping to keep the score to a manageable total for a run chase. All the bowlers were on the top of their game and combined with some excellent ground fielding Rode Park only managed to crawl to their closing total of 119 for 9 off the 40 overs. J. Gallimore was the top scorer with 47 but no other batsman could get to grips with the bowling attack Wicket takers were Callum McIlveen 2 for 15 , Simon Swift 2 for 34 , Sanimon Nair 3 for 14 & Neil Humphries 2 for 23.

As always with Audlem the run chase was never straight forward losing wickets along the way but with skipper Shenton blasting a quickfire 37 and Alex Howard ( 18 ) playing the anchor role they were soon within striking distance of their opponent's score. Kemal Toraman ( 19 ), Ron Paul ( 18 ) & Sanimon Nair ( 18 not out ) ensured the hosts gained their maximum points from the encounter.

The Sunday team travelled over the border into Wales for their fixture with Fenns Bank who play in the beautiful setting of Iscoyd Park.

Audlem chose to bat first with a few late arrivals due to them playing in a junior match in the morning. Dan Perks ( 25 ) & Richard Irvine ( 50 retired not out ) got the visitors of to a fine start but on Dan's dismissal a flurry of wickets fell. Fortunately for Audlem young Sammy Waller dug in and played a splendid innings (16 ) to steady the ship until the late comers arrived. Matty Kenvyn ( 19 ) and Michael Burton ( 30 ) added valuable runs to enable the visitors to set a decent total of 155 for 8 off their 40 overs. Nick Broadbent was the pick of the bowling with fine figures of 4 for 12 off his 8 overs.

Fenns Bank were always struggling against Audlem's varied attack with Matty Kenvyn the stand out performer taking 4 for 13 off just 4 overs but a special mention for Sammy Waller who dismissed the final batsman in his sixth over to finish with 2 for 20 and cap a fine all round performance. Fenns Bank were all out for 121 in the 31st over to give the visitors victory by the margin of 34 runs.

Next week the Saturday team play hosts to Wedgwood CC ( 1:00 pm ) from Barlaston whilst the Sunday X1 are at home the following day against Poppyfields ( 2:00 ) from the West Midlands.
