Maybe one of your resolutions is to update your training or knowledge to help your skills, or the running and management of the community or voluntary group you're involved with.

Here at CVS Cheshire East we offer high quality training courses to help support you in developing your skills and those of your organisation specialising in training courses tailored for the voluntary sector.

Throughout the year we try and offer something for all-starting with introductory courses and onto more intermediate and advanced sessions aimed at people who both work or volunteer in the sector.

Introduction to Writing Grant Applications
Tuesday 20th January 2015, 10am- 1pm at CVS Cheshire East, Sandbach

This introductory session is aimed at voluntary sector organisations who are new to writing grant applications and funding bids or have not applied for sometime and would like a refresher. This introductory session will give an overview of the best practice in writing and submitting grant funding applications.
Cost: Free

Emergency First Aid at Work
Wednesday 21st January 2015, 9.30am- 4pm, Venue to be confirmed
This full day course is for anyone who requires an Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate. It is HSE approved and certified. Certification is valid for 3 years.
Cost: £55 for Members & £85 for Non-Members

Introduction to Tendering & Bids
Thursday 5th February 2015, 10am-1pm, CVS Cheshire East, Crewe

In recent years there has been an increase in the number of contracts aimed at the community and voluntary sector. Does your organisation need to find out more about how to bid for these funds?
Cost: Free

Developing A Fundraising Strategy
Tuesday 10th February 2015, 10am- 4pm, CVS Cheshire East, Sandbach

This full day course will help you to consider how you are going to raise funds for your organisation and develop a strategy to achieve your target.
Cost: £60 for Members & £95 for Non-Members

Writing for Impact
Tuesday 17th February 2015, 10am-4pm, CVS Cheshire East, Crewe

This one day course is ideal for anyone who writes grant applications, funding bids or reports and would like to to make their writing more human, engaging and persuasive.

Suitable for all levels, and for all types of writing. Inspirational and unconventional, this workshop is particularly valuable for anyone who finds writing can be a struggle.
Cost: £55 for Members & £80 for Non-Members

Volunteer Management- Intermediate
Thursday 26th February 2015, 10am-4pm, CVS Cheshire East, Crewe

Volunteers are crucial to community and voluntary groups. Managing and supporting them is an essential part of the role of a volunteer manager. This full day course is aimed at community and voluntary groups who would like to learn more about supporting their volunteers.
Cost: £35 for Members & £60 for Non-Members

Monitoring & evaluating are essential for any voluntary or community group. This introductory session will look at the basics of monitoring and evaluating to help you report back to funders and stakeholders.

Equality & Diversity
Thursday 19th March 2015, 1pm-4pm, CVS Cheshire East, Sandbach

This course will help you to understand the requirements of the 2010 Equality Act and the accompanying 'Public Sector Equality Duty' (2011). We will discuss the protected characteristics introduced by the Act and ways that you can embed equality into your working practices and celebrate diversity in all that you do.
Cost: £35 for Members & £60 for Non-Members

Getting the Most from Social Media
Wednesday 25th March 2015, 10am-1pm, CVS Cheshire East, Sandbach

Would you like to do more with your organisation's social media? This session is aimed at community and voluntary groups who already use social media but would like to find ways of getting the most out of it.
Cost: £20 for Members & £35 for Non-Members
