Combermere Abbey, one of the UK's leading wedding and events venues, is delighted to announce a new partnership with specialist event caterers, 'Pickled Walnut'.

Pickled Walnut are a young and dynamic catering company who have already made their mark, satisfying the hunger and desires of discerning party-goers from home base on the Wirral to smart gatherings on the Med, at stately homes, castles and tennis tournaments.

They will join the Abbey's existing line up of preferred caterers, namely Sue-le-Bonne and Gorilla Bar services.

Creative

Pickled Walnut provide a creative spin on old favourites as well as modern cuisine, allowing fresh ingredients to take centre stage and occasionally adding in a little theatre to wow their diners. Conviviality of the occasion is a key element, with feasting a speciality of theirs, allowing the whole table to share large dishes. Of course, good old-fashioned friendly and professional service from their award-winning team is the icing on the cake.

Brides-to-be and other event clients will have a choice of delectable menus, prepared by first-class Chefs, as well as bespoke options, catering for all tastes and budgets with a three-course dining set menu from £37 and feasting main courses from £36 per head.

Dishes

You may choose to start with Goosnargh chicken liver and thyme parfait, served with Combermere Redcurrant jam, truffle salad and crispy brioche; then Carved Saddle of Welsh Black Lamb, served with sundried tomatoes and spinach farce, Formby asparagus crown with a chive mousse, fondant potato and mint scented lamb jus and who could resist a dessert such as Almond meringue tower served with a bottle of Mead at the centre, toasted almonds, real honeycomb, baby basil and strawberry paper?

Excited

Jamie Anderson, founder of the PW commented on the partnership: "We are all really excited to be working with the team at Combermere Abbey, collectively we will enhance guests' experience by bringing a host of unique ideas to the table both on product, food and service delivery. From the first phone call to getting to know our clients and serving on the big day, we ensure the whole thing is as sweet as Apple pie (ours are exquisite incidentally and made using the apples from the Combermere maze and orchards!)."

Sarah Callander Beckett, owner of the Abbey added: "As our venue becomes more established, for weddings and other events, we felt it was time to offer even more variety to our clients. Jamie and his team bring an experience to the Walled Gardens which goes far beyond the food offering, wonderful though that is, they also are fabulous party-givers, bringing an extra dimension to our events.'"

Magical

Combermere Abbey is a most magical venue, it constantly delights, transforms with each season and each wedding here enjoys its own uniqueness.

Facilities for up to 150 guests, include The Glasshouse in the centre of the Walled Gardens, with 180˚views over the Fruit Tree Maze, the Walled Garden Pavilion and the new Maze Pavilion.

Combermere Abbey is located five miles west of Audlem, on the Cheshire/Shropshire border. Weddings and events are held all year round.
