Coffee Lounge at marina

Now that it's midsummer, this is an ideal time to take a stroll northwards from Audlem along the canal and visit the branch of the Coffee Lounge at Overwater Marina.

Run by Debbi Miles, who also set up and runs the Coffee Lounge in Shropshire Street, Audlem, it's proving a great success with walkers along the canal and users of the marina where large numbers of boats are now moored.

Visiting boats also swing into the marina to enjoy a refreshment break at the Coffee Lounge before they head off to Audlem itself – or simply want to recover over a coffee or a snack if they've just negotiated the fifteen Audlem locks!

The Coffee Lounge has a wide range of drinks and food on offer, including the Forte's range of high quality ice creams.

There's comforatble seating indoors and a very pleasant outdoor terrace looking out over the canal and the marina.

The Coffee Lounge is open 10.00am – 4.00pm each day except Wednesday when it's closed and Sunday when it opens at 10.30am.

If you are walking along the towpath, leave at Bridge 80 and cross the canal along the farm track. Take the second turn on the left, again a track, go past the pond and follow the marina road southwards to the Coffee Lounge and Marina reception block. It's a walk of approaching 1.5 miles each way from the centre of Audlem.
