What a fantastic extravaganza at the Audlem St James Church last night. The children of St James' School put on a fantastic show with a parade of carnival masks and umbrellas adding colour and theatre to their show. The teachers must be proud of the display put on especially for the Carnival weekend and also getting the audience to participate.
It was an awesome start to the festival with the legendary Heavy Weather packing out the Shroppie Fly; the unmistakeable sound of Browne and Giliker at the Bridge and the Lord Combermere being entertained by the one and only Darren Poyzer.
Poyzer and Fluff have been festival favourites for the last three years but last night with guests Mark Dennis, Davye Dean and Roydan Stills, they produced an unforgetable night at the Combi – the sound and atmosphere was absolutely unique and one to be remembered.
The festival will only grow from tonight – it was good!
