"CHOCOLATE: FOOD OF THE GODS"

A dip into the history behind all things chocolate

After a high-octane presentation topic at their last meeting, about the high-speed lifestyles ofthe Bentley Boys and Girls, Audlem Probus Club members can relax next week (Nov 14) by dipping into tasty tales of "Chocolate: Food of the Gods", and how people the world overcame to love it.

Dr Diana Leitch, a world-renowned scientist with a background in chemistry, will serve up facts from the 2,000 or so years of history of chocolate.

Her ingredients include a blending of the botany, economics, medical aspects and how it is changing, topped off with a splash of the science involved.

It promises to be an irresistible recipe for the retired and semi-retired business professionals who make up membership of Audlem Probus, plus visitors, from 10am, Nov 14, in Audlem Public Hall.

Who isn't hoping for a tasty sample? Fingers crossed . . .

It's just one of a very varied list of topics featured each month. This last two scheduled presentations of 2024

  • "Bringing Law to Life with Laughter," by Sue Holden,
  • " The History of Magic," by Paul Kay.
