It can only be described as a very full and enthusiastic house at Audlem's Music venue, the Scout & Guide hall. There is a great vibe; it's a compact venue where you are right up to the bands, and what bands there were to entertain.

Doors opened at 7.00pm and the Duffey Boys kicked the themed all NEW Chilli night off at 7.30pm with some of their own new songs; That's the way the story goes, Anytime, Walk away and Coming home plus new covers, Oasis' Talk tonight and Levellers' Beautiful day.

Fake Heroes followed with a variation on their usual music style playing Ghost, Last regret, Take this city, Dammitt and Blink 182 Let's dance to the Joy Division finishing with the Wombats – another great set from this popular young band.

Chilling out for the Chilli, (Hot, medium, a kiddies special and some wonderful Veggi variations), and Reuben Palin played an acoustic set – Beatles' Love me Do, Oasis' Be Free and U2 included in his set, to an appreciative audience. Raising the tempo another, dare I say it as easily as that, surely were not taking the talent in this area for granted? But up stepped the Foxy Wellingtons and what a fantastic set these guys put on, on their first ever live gig! So amazed by these young guys (and trying not to be biased here) but your reporter here forgot to right down their set list through enjoying so much.

The Wash, Wayne Capper fronting the band with George and Pete Marshall, also made their first live gig appearance; Stereophonics Local boy in the photograph, their own, Sirens and Your song, The meaning of soul from Oasis followed by another of their own numbers inspired by a strip club in Barcelona – I recall Eddie's stripper. Another debut performance, and you would never have known it, they were so tight.

Up stepped Jack Marshall for the first time playing solo acoustic gig, a complete contrast from his band the Defense, some intricate guitar work delivering a fantastic percussive effect with some fine playing on the strings, again including a new self penned song.

Let it be said that to this point in the proceedings, Audlem not only has a reputation for good Blues, it now has a growing reputation for putting on any style of music you care to mention -- welcome to the stage, full on Monkey Shoulder, we're now getting loud, heavy and rocking with No cheesing, Kill me, No time, Skin creed, Money is Milk, Mr Finger and I don't feel – delivered in great style, it was AWESOME!.

That took us to the last band of the evening – welcoming to the stage The Varlets, kicking off with Get it on, Skyscraper and Don''t come round, the set also included Gift wrapped and static. This band is making a lot of friends around the North West, add Audlem to it.

Again, a generously supported event, probably the best to date, which the bands and the Chilli crew really appreciate. Also big thanks for all the help given to packing up the hall; it''s what makes this place special. It's about having a place to play to an audience, and playing what you want, having a good time doing it and the audience having a great family night out, There are some seriously talented people and we were given a lot of comments to support that view. It was good.
