More help with 30 hours per week of free childcare
Antoinette Sandbach, MP for Eddisbury, has welcomed the Government's plans to double free childcare for hardworking families – which will benefit up to 60,000 parents in the North West.
The offer of 30 hours of free childcare per week during term time – worth around £5,000 a year – means parents will be able to get on while bringing up a family.
All three- and four-year-olds in working families will be eligible for 1,140 hours of free childcare per year – twice the current entitlement.
Thanks to the reforms, including free childcare and Tax-Free Childcare, working families will be able to save thousands of pounds.
Local MP Antoinette Sandbach commented: "Childcare costs can be a burden on family finances – preventing parents from working. During the election campaign I spoke to many families in my constituency who were worried about the cost of childcare, so it's fantastic news that the Conservatives are doubling free childcare.
"We want to make it easier for those parents who do want to work, to do so. It's great to see the offer of 30 hours of free childcare a week during term time, meaning more parents will be able to return to work and hold on to more of their hard earned money."
