Cheshire East Council's cabinet has approved a £2million new homes bonus fund to assist communities where new housing developments have been built between 2011 and 2017. The scheme, which will run for 2 years, is designed to achieve positive benefits based on locally-identified needs. The priorities for each of the areas are being set by seven geographical award groups, made up of elected members and a representative from the town and parish councils.

A total of 223 applications, totalling £7.5million, were received from faith groups, voluntary groups, and town and parish councils. Each application was evaluated and scored by a multi-agency panel, meeting the criteria set out in the New Homes Bonus Community Fund policy.

The Nantwich area as a whole has been awarded £162,006 of the total £1million allocated in the first year.

ADCA and C&RT

The main beneficiary in Audlem is ADCA (Audlem and District Community Action) which will receive a grant of £42,300. This is for several related projects within the village and was made in conjunction with the Public Hall and the Wheelybus.

A full description of the bid and what it is to be used for will appear on AudlemOnline in the next day or two.

Also of Audlem interest is a grant of £71,000 to the Canal and River Trust in the Nantwich area.
