Over the New Year period, Audlem Online is featuring what a selection of local residents would like to see in Audlem in 2007. We started the series last week and today, we feature Celia Bloor:-

"My wish list is for two pedestrian crossings, one near the Methodist Chapel, the other near the

butchers."

"For Buerton school I would like to see it a listed building and for Cheshire County Council to run it as a

teachers' centre or similar so that meetings can still be held there. The

playing field at the school should be preserved."

"I'd like to see a skateboard park for the youngsters, a swimming pool and more films shown. All the shops should prosper and, especially, we don't lose the Post Office."

"It would be wonderful if everyone who's been in the village 50 years or more looks out their old photos and writes their memoirs, passing them to the History Society. Failing that, everyone with an elderly neighbour might interview them about their

life in Audlem, Hankelow or Buerton and pass it on to us for safekeeping."

The A525 should be declassified and if

Santa has given any of us speed guns for Xmas, I'd volunteer to use one as part of a rota – I think they speed even in the centre of the village."
