Catalytic Converter Theft

A heads up to any hybrid car owners, I had the catalytic converter stolen from my car in broad daylight Sunday. It was parked on Shropshire Street, street opposite the Nantwich junction, At 6pm a neighbour noticed three men jacking the car up. He thought they were attending to a puncture, until they produced a saw. and within minutes the part was whipped off the exhaust from under the car. It was over in just a few minutes, and they sped off towards Staffordshire in a mid blue Renault Scenic. He got their number plate, which showed the car to be untaxed & no MOT but mostly likely these will not be the regular plates for the vehicle, since they would attract the immediate attention of any Police camera.

It would seem that this type of crime is very much on the rise, and Toyota Auris, Toyota Prius , Honda Jazz and Lexus hybrid cars are amongst the most targeted.
