Everything is ready, we understand, for one of Audlem's most popular annual events – the Carols in the Square, organised by ADAS.

It's tonight, Thursday evening, and the music starts at 7.30pm.

ADAS' Ralph Warburton says: "The wonderful event that is the singing of carols around the big tree in the Square will be held tonight, Thursday 22nd December, at 7.30pm.

"Just a very happy half hour of popular carols sung by a huge audience to the music of the Crewe Brass band – and with hot soup provided by the Lord Combermere.

"The Mayor and Mayoress of Cheshire East, Santa and the Crewe Brass Band – who have been playing for us for the past 25 years - will be there all helping to make this a magical start to the Christmas holiday attended by hundreds.

"A very happy family occasion, with a final appearance by Santa before he flies off to the North Pole to collect the gifts."

It's 7.30pm on Thursday – Carols in the Square. But the entertainment in Audlem goes on into the night!

The Modern Alarms Christmas Party gets underway at 10.00pm in the Lord Combermere. Anyone who has seen this band perform will know this really will be a party to remember.

This last six months has seen a change in the Modern Alarms line up with Colm joining on bass and his first tentative steps in the band were during the Oxjam set in October in, where else, Audlem.

Colm is now fully integrated into the band and Dom, Fray and Gledders have told him all about another memorable Thursday night the lads played here earlier this year.

Do come along as this tonight's set will be another highlight of the year. If you feel like it, fancy dress is optional or just wear Xmas hats.
