The rain didn't fall on the Audlem Carnival parade as it wound its way through the village during one of the rare breaks in the weekend's downpours. The village was packed yesterday as many ventured out after over 24 hours of rain had blighted Sunday.

The rain held off for several more hours in the afternoon as residents and visitors enjoyed the fun of the fair, the troupes and numerous stalls. The 5As float was judged the best in the parade.

The Music Festival reached its climax with Gambler playing at the Bridge, traditional music at the Lord Combermere and an aptly named Heavy Weather with America's Chris Cook putting on a rousing show at the Shroppie Fly. From Friday night's opener with Nemo and 505 at the Public Hall through to last night, the eight village venues have provided a feast for music lovers of all ages.
