This month the Audlem team of volunteers have met on Friday 2nd June. The reason behind an unplanned Task Force Day was to keep the momentum going, that the group meets on a regular basis. Obviously this month is not the second Saturday as is normally planned. The reasons being that some of the group are away on holiday, going to weddings and just unavailable on this date. So here we are another busy day working on the off side of the canal in and around locks 15 up through to lock 12. Obviously assisting boat traffic was the priority, although light.

A number of overhanging branches that have been restricting boats mooring and also restricting vision from lock 13 down to lock 14 were removed. The photograph shows the new unrestricted view down from lock 13 to lock 14. The team also cleared overhanging bushes restricting access to the private mooring areas. Also lock quadrants and the main tow path was cleared of fallen debris. A litter pick of the area was also carried out.

As normal tea and coffee was in plentiful supply and all work was completed before the rain arrived.

July will bring the group back to normal with the task force day being held on the second Saturday of the month 'the 8th' with a flexible start of 09:30 near the entrance to the Audlem Mill Shop again you are more than welcome to join us, even is it is just for a free cup of tea.
