The Audlem Lass Boat Service had a very busy festival weekend taking visitors to and from Overwater Marina to the village. As well as 15 dogs, and a number of buggies for toddlers, we carried over 400 adults and children.
Without exception those coming on the boat were very enthusiastic about the village and complimentary that such a small village could stage such a fantastic event. They were impressed with the pubs, the cafes, the chippie, and the shops in general, but in particular the service being offered at such a hectic time and the range of food and drink on offer. The friendliness and welcome they experienced throughout their visit was a frequent comment.
The children who had been 'painted' by Emma were particularly proud of their changed appearance!
Quite a few of the passengers were camping in the village and at Overwater Marina and have planned to book for next year's event when the date is known as they had really enjoyed the wide variety of activities available to them in this area.
Since Easter the boat has carried over 1300 visitors which is an increase of 100 against last year, with an additional 20 dogs.
Editor's comment : What a wonderful testimonial for the village and it's inhabitants!
