The 1st XI travelled to Kerridge in their quest to gain promotion from Division 2 of the Cheshire Cricket Alliance. They duly notched up an emphatic victory by eight wickets to remain in top spot with five games to go.

Skipper Chris Shenton lost the toss and Kerridge surprisingly opted to bat in what appeared to be overcast conditions with a green track. However, the home side's gamble failed to pay off as Audlem's opening bowlers, Stuart Elkes and Rich Brown, soon had them in trouble. First to strike was Elkes who clean bowled Jon to make it 7 for 1. With the score on 23 Brown had his namesake Danny stumped by Tim Ruscoe. Wickets began to fall at regular intervals as first Will McGinnis fell to Elkes, caught by Kemal Toraman and then James Hannaghan was trapped lbw by Brown, leaving Kerridge in trouble at 37 for 4.

Brown then put the home team in even deeper trouble as he bowled Shane Ward twelve runs later. He was soon followed by Brian Hibbert, caught by Shenton off Brown's bowling, with the scoreboard showing 51 for 6. Oliver Burney joined Brown in the attack and had Joe Beard caught by Elkes making it 61 for 7. Brown took his fifth wicket when he had Gareth Edwards caught by Ruscoe ten runs later.

Toraman and Lyndon Woodcock took over bowling duties and both took a wicket as Kerridge were all out for 94. Brown finished with 5 for 20 off 16 overs.

Toraman and Andy Capper began Audlem's reply, with Toraman showing his intent by hitting his first ball for six. Capper played the anchor role, but was first out, caught and bowled by Hannaghan for 5 with the score on 29. Rich Wilson joined Toraman, who was still attacking the bowling and together they took the score to 57, when Toraman was bowled by Ainsworth for 36. Wilson and Tom Measures then saw Audlem home without further loss, with Wilson finishing the game off in style with a six to finish 40 not out, with Measures 9 not out.

Audlem gained 25 points and Kerridge 4. Second-placed Glazebury won to remain 4 points behind Audlem, with Ellesmere Port, who also won a further 22 points back.

On Saturday the 1st XI travel to Saughall, who are in fourth place, hoping to continue their winning run.
