A reminder that the judges of Britain in Bloom will be here in the village today, Thursday, 1st August, at 3.00pm.
I will once more meet with them and tell them in depth just what strength we have here in the community with all the wonderful facets that go to make up all that Audlem is. Not just the floral displays, but the tree planting, the carols at Christmas, the magnificent Christmas displays, the many active societies here, the cleanliness of the village and the work of Gavin, our lengthsman and the many events we enjoy here. Part of the remit of the judging is to see just what makes us tick. And I will be laying it on thick!
As ADAS has now been awarded medals over the past three consecutive years, it is highly unlikely that they will be giving us another. But we do all that we do for the enjoyment of all who live here and who visit us – not for a day of judging.
Please do a bit extra if you can to smarten the village up – with especial regard to the Shropshire Street shopping area and Cheshire Street. Thank you
Ralph Warburton
Acting ADAS chairman
