This week's Nantwich Chronicle covers the official opening of the 6th form building at Brine Leas school.
Audlem resident, Janet Furber, the chair of governors, made use of the opportunity to express her thanks to headteacher Andrew Cliffe for his commitment and hard work.
The mayor of Nantwich, Joyce Stockton, and the MP for Crewe & Nantwich, Edward Timpson, officially opened the £7m building which has been named BL6.
Andrew Cliffe stressed that the mission statement for the Audlem Road school remains the same: "To provide a successful education for every student."
The event was attended by a wide range of people associated with school including guests from Audlem. Most secondary school pupils from the Audlem area attend Brine Leas and local residents teach or have taught there.
Amongst the guests was Daphne Howard who was the first headteacher at the school when it opened in 1977.
