Brine Leas School Year 11 have made the school proud and have been simply amazing. The school issued the following Press Statement:-

Amazing Year 11 results

There has never been an exam year, season, or results day like this one. Today, our brilliant Year 11 students collected their GCSE results. Our Year 11 students have been recognised for their hard work, dedication and resilience. We have always known that this year group had the potential to do amazing things and I would like to take the opportunity to tell everyone, including our community, that these are a fair reflection of their ability and their knowledge.

The results are amazing and give an accurate reflection of the year group. We have seen this year group's ability to tackle problems head on and what they have done throughout their time at Brine Leas has inspired many of us. We are very excited to be welcoming so many of them back into our Sixth Form, together with many students from other schools, as we fully open in two weeks' time and we wish all of those that are continuing elsewhere every success in the future.

Head Teacher, Mr David Cole said, "...this year group has faced many challenges that were not of their own making and nor did they have control of them. Today, they have been awarded a superb and justified set of qualifications. On behalf of all of our staff, governors, trustees and our community, I want to thank them for all of their hard work, dedication, and support in ensuring that Brine Leas remains one of the highest achieving schools."

Over 240 Year 11 Brine Leas students have today received their final GCSE grades, known as "Centre Assessed Grades" and if these were 'normal times' then I would be quoting how these are the best results ever achieved, but these are not 'normal times' and these are not 'normal grades'. There is such mixed emotion flying around about these grades, in our school and in all schools nationally. We are still awaiting some of the other results which have been affected by late changes in direction from the Department for Education. With the cancellation of all exams this summer, students across the country have received grades based on their work over the last 2 years within school, supported with a robust and rigorous quality assurance process. As agreed with all other head teachers in Cheshire East, we will not be releasing headline measures this year. However, we are celebrating amazing destinations, progress, and outcomes from all of them."
