Audlem Bowls Club would like to thank all the members and visitors who made last Sunday's charity event such a success.
We raised just under £500 on the day and have more donations promised.
Many thanks to Jean Clarke who organised the raffle and tombola and to all our sponsors in the village who donated prizes.
We managed to avoid the rain for most of the day but the finalists did get wet!! Lesley Davenport organised 36 players in a round robin doubles match which resulted in Heather Ashton and Jack Hazeldine, a guest from Adderley, beating Todd Ridge and Alex Appleby, the youngest player. Our President, Bob Bennion, presented each with an attractive wooden plate made by John Stead.
At the end of the season, all monies raised will be donated to ADCA and a Parkinsons charity.
Ed – we only have pictures of bowls in the sunshine – I wonder why that is?
