BLS Pre-Year 7 Activity Day

Last Saturday, Brine Leas School in Nantwich opened its doors to around 230 pupils from years 5 and 6 of many primary schools throughout the area for its annual 'Activity Day'.

The kids enjoyed a wide range of practical activities – from making chocolate creatures in the cookery room to designing and building Lego robots with the ICT department; developing CSI skills in the laboratory or launching their individually made rockets with the help of technology staff; learning new game skills in the Sports Hall or exhausting themselves with Irish folk dances. These workshops introduced them to the staff and facilities available at a large secondary school. Headteacher, Andrew Cliffe, commented: "It was a pleasure to see so many young students smiling and enjoying themselves".

There will be a further opportunity to visit the school on Wednesday 10th October when the school opens its doors to the public for their annual open day.

There will be guided tours between 9:10am and noon, and also in the evening from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Visitors will be welcome to view all the facilities and talk to both staff and students. The Headteacher will address visitors at 6:30pm and 7:30pm.

Students, parents and anyone from the community are invited to go along.
