Local celebrity Billy Gibbons has made it into the weekly national magazine 'Take a Break.'
It has be admitted that he's tucked away at the back of the publication on page 62 under the heading 'Fifties Fan.'
It all starts in typical Billy style: "I put on some 1950s clothes, ran my hand over my quiff and got into my old-fashioned car.
"But I wasn't going to a fancy dress party. I was just on my way to Tesco."
Overlooking this disappointing use of a shop not in Audlem, Billy describes his house and its 1950s memorabilia and his rockabilly music – the photo here, taken at this year's Audlem Music & Arts Festival is used in the article.
He even describes how he met a lady called Shell who loved the era too. And then says: "But when she saw my home, she said: "I couldn't live here Billy."
He concludes by saying that he loves his lifestyle and wouldn't change it for the world.
Mind you, he might like to change his address in the article which plonks him in Green Lane, Crewe rather than Audlem. So that's why he was shopping in Tesco!
