Big Switch On video

This is a short video of Santa arriving in the Audlem Lass at Audlem Wharf during the Big Switch On celebrations on Friday evening.

It was a rainy, windy evening but a lot of people, egged on by their children we suspect, braved the elements to watch the event.

Santa was delayed by a few minutes (to a background of a lot of "when is he coming? I can't see him" questions from the younger element), to a point where some feared that the Lass had not survived the weather and Santa was floundering somewhere in the recesses of Lock12. On refection however, this would not have been a problem given the number of RNLI supporters handy who could no doubt have performed an efficient rescue.

Eventually he arrived and led the waiting crowds up to the village Square, where the lights on the big tree were enthusiastically counted down and switched on.
