There's a new event coming up in Audlem on Thursday 25th November – the Big Switch On.
You can read all the details by clicking on the poster to the right. As well as the switching on of the Christmas lights, there's a Fancy Dress Santa parade by the children of St James' school to the Square and late-night shopping in Audlem 's shops, the first of a number of evening shopping events in the month running up to Christmas.
At 6.30pm on 25th November, the sponsors of the big tree in the Square, Trixie and Norman Bonell and family, will switch on the lights which will illuminate the centre of Audlem until the 12th Day of Chrsitmas.
The Church bell ringers will start the evening and there will be live music under the Buttermarket. Tastings and treats in the village's shops and pubs will add to the appeal.
The Big Switch on is presented by the Audlem District Amenities Society (ADADS), the Audlem Village Traders Association, the village's pubs and Audlem School (F.A.S.A.).
The last of these late-night shopping events will be on Wednesday 22nd December, the night of the ever-popular Carol singing in the Square, one of Audlem's great social occasions.
