April saw another record month for the numbers of readers clicking on to AudlemOnline with an increase of over 14% on the previous best, March this year.

At one stage, the webteam was getting increasingly excited – well, one of them was, to be honest – as there was a fighting chance we would attract over 50,000 readers in the month. As it happened, that milestone was missed as 49,511 clicked on, or an average of 1,650 a day.

Fifty thousand would definitely have resulted in a bottle of bubbly being opened at the next webteam meeting. Unfortunately, it's now back to coffee and tea and just maybe, we will console ourselves with a bottle of red and perhaps one of non-sparkling white.

In our first year of publishing, 2005, we would have been very happy to see 1,000 readers in a month. Indeed, there was a quiet celebration when we attracted fifty readers in a day.

April 1st 2013 now stands as the record daily readership with 2,143 clicking on followed closely by April 21st when an Avril Foulière story appeared about a party of Sicilians arriving at Coxbank International Airport. Fortunately the rest of the webteam has persuaded the editor not to read too much into these statistical quirks and focus on real news rather than doing a Daily Onion and switching entirely to spoofs!

As always, our thanks to all our readers and contributors for your continued interest.
