Andy at the Shroppie Fly is well known in the area for his skills at keeping cask ales. He explains: "The Shroppie normally offers five cask ales. We intend to supplement these with ten additional beers and ciders for the weekend."

He continues "The whole Beer Festival is a very exciting development for the village. Just look at the range of beers on offer. They range from Breweries with a turnover of less than £100,000 to over £100,000,000, from Breweries in Scotland to Cornwall and from styles of the lightest straw coloured beers to the darkest milds (and don't forget the ciders!).

"We look forward to introducing local residents and visitors alike to this eclectic mix."

Kate added, "We are offering a lovely range of food for the Festival, and of course invite friends and strangers alike to come and join us on the canal wharf. We just hope ASET have organised the sunshine!"

The Audlem Beer Festival is on Sunday August 29th and Bank Holiday 30th August at the village's three pubs with thirty cask ales as well as a wide range of ciders on offer.

Camping facilities are available for this new event in the Audlem calendar just a short walk away from all three village pubs. Please call to book on 07929 895749 or email at davidjoynson@btinternet.com">davidjoynson@btinternet.com

There will be a small camping charge to cover the cost of providing toilet facilities.
