Our readers may remember that back in March 2016 we ran an article about Elvis coming to Audlem at the Shroppie.

On Friday evening BBC Channel 5 featured a programme "Barging Brits in the Sun" which included a holiday family hiring a boat to see the 126 feet high Froncysyllte aqueduct on the Langollen canal, a couple Hele and Carl on a glamorous £100,000 boat on the Cheshire Canals who wanted torpedoes to fire on the "tupperware boats".

But nearer to home was Paul Larcombe who originally lived on a boat in Chester and was seen on his canal boat near the Overwater Marina as the Audlem Lass went passed.
Paul is a UK Champion Elvis Tribute and was making his way to the Shroppie Fly which staged an Elvis tribute evening as the above link shows.

Some photos captured from the Channel 5 programme of this spectacular event are attached but apologies for the poor quality. Please click on the photo for more detail
