Last week, AudlemOnline published an article about NEMi, naturally enriched milk that claims many benefits, for animals, producers and consumers.

#Natural
NEMi's website – created in Audlem too by ThenMedia – says: "The nutritional support which the cows receive to keep them healthy is carried over into the milk which we consume as bottled milk and other products such as cheese, yoghurt and cream.

"Milk and related dairy products remain a mainstay of our diet and NEMi recognised enriched milk would be a natural way of increasing these vital vitamins and minerals in our diet – so we could all be healthier without the need to take supplement pills or drastically alter our diets.

#Milk as it used to be
"For you as a consumer, you want to know that you are receiving a fully monitored, quality milk product with some of the most important elements you and your family need for your long term health. NEMi milk products do just that; Good for the cow, naturally – Good for us all!"

The NEMi team is made up of six individuals, each talented in their own field, and many with Audlem links.

Andrew Henderson
Audlem resident, Ruminant Dairy Nutritionist and Managing Director of Independent Feeds Ltd.

Dr Russell Muirhead MB ChB MRCGP
GP partner in Audlem and Chairman of Shropdoc with over 270 GP members who provide care for 600,000 patients in Shropshire, Powys and Cheshire.

Russell has been a practising doctor for 30 years and has seen a huge shift in the pattern of illness. There is a growing problem of older people living with chronic or 'Long Term Conditions' into their 80s, 90s and beyond.

Whilst modern medicine has seen significant improvements in the treatment of illness, that is no longer enough to manage our general health. Prevention is the only way we can effectively reduce the impact of these chronic illnesses on both the individual and society in general.

Having researched the benefits of antioxidants, he believes that they have a major part to play, along with improved exercise, diet and reduction in harmful behaviours such as smoking and excess alcohol, in the fight to promote a healthier population.

Steve Leonard BVSc MRCVS
Practicing Veterinary Surgeon locally and well-known TV wildlife presenter. Currently presenting Safari Vets School on ITV1 Friday 7:30 pm

Ian Leach
European Regional Director of Alltech, one of the world's leading Animal Health product manufacturers specialising in Natural Organic Products and developers of "Selplex" the Organic Selenium Yeast, approved by the European Food Standards Agency with proven benefits to both animal and human health.

Graham Fell
Currently Director of Gold Standards Frameworks CIC: a social enterprise delivering training and education to front line providers of "End of Life" care nationally and developing Telehealth solutions for optimum Chronic Disease care in patients' own homes.

Donald McCrone
Senior director of Fayrefield Liquids, part of the Fayrefield group, one of the largest privately owned Dairy brand groups in Europe. Donald was one of the original promoters and suppliers of organic milk to the UK market in the 1990's.

We understand that NEMi milk may be available in Audlem in the not too distant future. More on this as soon as we have more information.
