It was early this year when all the village businesses got together to discuss mutual ideas and plans. From that meeting came the germ of an idea for the Beer Festival, and ASET were happy to offer their help in organisation and administration. We, Des and Dave, were seconded from ASET to represent the group and have remained on the project ever since.

Des commented "It has been great to see the collaboration between the pubs on making this an event for the Village, and we certainly hope that as many people as possible from the Village will visit on the days of the Beer Festival to see what we have been working on.

"It is backing from the people of the Village that makes all that we do in ASET worthwhile. We are lucky in that what we have organised in the past with our "Proms", our Bonfire and our Festival of Transport events have allowed us to be able to generate and then donate the best part of £30,000 to village causes.

"This was because Villagers and visitors alike came in their hundreds to see what we had organised. Please come again and try this new venture."

Dave added, "Whilst Des and I have done most of the legwork on this particular project from the ASET side, we are just part of a great team where we have been able to call on the skills, commitment and enthusiasm of other team members for help in all sorts of areas.

"We also rely on the help and comments of friends and neighbours in the community and ask for feedback and suggestions on everything we do."

The preparations for the Beer Festival are well in hand and we all look forward to a successful event. Please come and join us. Cheers!
