Pre Season Friendly against Woore

Audlem's cricketers managed to get their pre-season friendly fixture played on a glorious sunny Saturday afternoon against neighbouring Woore. It was a huge contrast to the previous weekend when the game against Crewe Vagrants was called off due to the ground being cloaked in snow.

Woore brought a full strength first eleven as they are anticipating a serious push in their division this season and were looking for a valuable workout as were the hosts who are targeting another promotion after last year's successful campaign.

On the day Woore ran out worthy winners with their array of talented juniors leading the way. The club has a comprehensive junior section which caters in all the age ranges for both boys and girls and is now starting to bear fruit in the senior teams.

Audlem were able to field three local teenagers of their own in the starting eleven who all conducted themselves admirably. With a full Saturday and Sunday fixture list to look forward to this season the opportunity is there for any juniors to get a game over the weekend throughout the season. Net practice is every Wednesday but if that is inconvenient the facilities can be made available at other times as required.

This weekend Audlem play hosts to Moddershall & Oulton on Saturday and Colwyn Bay on Sunday.
