Apologies from AudlemOnline to anyone confused by the headline which originally appeared as "Audlem Voices on Sunday" – sorry!

Further correction – the start time is 7.00pm rather than 7.30pm – it will be a miracle if anybody is at the right place at the right time!

Audlem Voices, by popular demand, will be performing their long awaited concert on Saturday May 25th at 7.00pm in St James's Church as part of the Music and Arts Festival.

Over the last few months, members of the choir have been honing their voices to the peak of perfection, to say nothing of the blood, sweat and tears that their long suffering and beloved conductor, Jenny Collis-Smith has had to endure!

Magnificat

For those of you who will be in recovery after staggering from one Audlem pub to another, please take time out to reflect and relax and listen to our beloved local choir performing John Rutter's 'Magnificat', accompanied by Jane Johnson, as well as other pieces by Handel and Vivaldi.

John Rutter has stated that his intention was to write a Magnificat redolent of Mediterranean sunshine and celebration, evoking the spirit of the many exuberant festivals held throughout Europe in honour of the Virgin Mary.

This would seem a fitting tribute to Audlem, who are also celebrating their Arts and Music Festival, indeed perhaps the performance will encourage some of the Mediterranean sunshine!

The best news is that this concert is free and we would love to encourage both young and old to take time out from their busy lives to absorb and appreciate, what will indeed be a 'Magnificat' performance!
