Audlem Saints U8's returned from the Christmas break raring to go!

Two weeks of chocolate, playstation, chocolate, gameboy and chocolate had done nothing to dampen the enthusiasm for a good old fashioned "game of footie"!

Nantwich Bears provided the opposition and the Audlem boys played very well indeed. Particularly pleasing was the passing and movement shown by Audlem, something we had worked on before the break. The first goal was scored within 2 minutes and involved 4 Saints players and a fabulous sidefoot finish. The first period of 10 minutes ended with the score at 2-0 to Audlem and without the Bears having a shot on goal. This dominance led to a policy of "attack with gusto, defend just occasionally" and the Bears deservedly pegged 2 goals back. Audlem Saints were the better, stronger team though and ran out comfortable 6-2 winners. A great performance and another game in which both teams of eight year olds behaved rather better than their millionaire Premiership idols!
