Before Sunday's match against Nantwich Town Bears, the coach was playfully reminded by the loyal parental support that "it's a six pointer today" and "could be a relegation battle this one". Could another defeat lead to cries of "sack the manager!". No pressure. In the first period of 10 minutes we passed forward, we passed backwards, we even passed along our back three. Passing of the highest order. Scoring was proving rather more challenging. 0-0 at the break. The second period was more of the same but with some great shooting too. Our first goal was three passes from goalkeeper through to forward and a great side footed finish. Confirmation that the scorer watches rather too much Sky TV football came with his Brazilian Samba dance celebration. A second goal followed, this time a splendid strike from fully 18 yards. He claims it was "top corner". Replays may have proved otherwise but we'll never know. Anyway 2-0 at end of second period.

Audlem started the third period in control and added three more goals quickly. The final goal was (honestly and without exaggeration) one of the best goals I have seen scored by a bunch of 8 year olds. Keeper rolled it out and a passing move involving every player followed and the whole thing completed with a sweet strike into the bottom corner.

5-0 win and thoroughly deserved. The boys were thrilled but conducted themselves well again. So pressure off for another week!
