Colin: On 24th March Colin Liles took part in his second half marathon (13.1 miles) raising over £850 for Prostate Cancer UK, competing in the London Landmarks run whose route takes in some of London's iconic sites. Prior to this Colin's first 1/2 marathon was over 11 years ago. Colin confidently completed the race in 3hrs 3 mins 18secs, faster than anticipated, and he generously credits this to his sessions with Audlem running group (Colin Liles).
Stuart: Stuart Furber is a seasoned runner but after a few years off he started back to running a couple of years ago and has been entering some half marathons since. In February Stuart completed the Wrexham 1/2 marathon where he achieved his personal best time finishing in 1 hour 38 minutes.
Stuart says; 'If I wasn't at running group on a Saturday morning I'd probably be having a slow morning and not doing any exercise, so it's a great way to start the weekend'.
Helen: Helen Myers is on course to complete her 100th marathon later this year. Helen started running marathons in 2014. Since January this year she has successfully completed the following 10 marathon races with times shown.

Helen says 'The group helps with my race preparation, but I really like the social side of it, especially the post run tea and scones!'
Not all our group members take part in race events and the variation in experience and the pace of members is wide ranging.
The quote by runner John Bingham is fitting; 'if you run, you are a runner. It doesn't matter how fast or how far. It doesn't matter if today is your first day or if you've been running 20 years. There is no test to pass, no licence to earn, no membership card to get. You just run'.
On April 13th all Audlem running group members will get chance to participate in a 5k (3.1 miles) Park Run race. If you'd like to join us for the park run or any Saturday run we meet at the car park next to the playing field on Saturday morning 8.30am start. (April 13th we will meet at 8.10am as we have to drive a short distance to the race).
