Audlem Ramblers – Saturday 10th Feb

Barry Pearson is leading our next Long ARS walk from Mow Cop on Saturday 10th February 8.30am.

Walk Description:-

The walk will start at the Old Man of Mow car park. This is directly adjacent to the east side of Mow Cop Castle. Map reference SJ856574.

Initially, we will follow the South Cheshire Way down to Ackers Crossing and then the Macclesfield Canal. After 3 miles we will leave the canal and soon join the Gritstone Trail, which we will follow back to the start point. The total length is 10.5 miles and the ascent on the home bound section is approximately 190 metres.

Meet at Audlem Car Park to leave at 8.30 am to the start which is a drive of about 45 minutes (21 miles).

NB All walkers must have suitable footwear and be prepared for adverse weather, carry food and water to last for the entire walk and be suitably fit for the various lengths of walk.

Each walk is led by a nominated leader who will carry some first-aid equipment. The leader has the right to refuse to include in a group anyone who is felt not be adequately equipped.

Non-members of Audlem Rambling Society (ARS) are welcome to come on a walk but are expected to join ARS and pay the membership fee after a trial walk or two.
