Audlem Music & Arts Festival 2012

Audlem Music & Arts festival 2012 will run from Thursday 31st May – Tuesday 5th June 2012.

A fantastic event that's in its 11th year, and is free, with some eighty odd acts lined up which includes a Poetry Slam on the opening Thursday, along with a mix of music styles and something for everyone's taste.

It always caters for variety in the musical genres and styles, all ages, new artists and established artists. Many performers play the large festivals and stages around the world, and love coming here to play.

The magic of the event is that it reflects the village, a friendly open atmosphere for all ages, great for families and friends to get together for a great entertaining five days this year thanks to the Queen's Jubilee.

All the businesses and groups within the village get behind the event, through sponsorship and involvement in getting the village ready, and then making it an accessible place for all and a real holiday atmosphere.

With the mix of three distinctive pubs: The Shroppie Fly, Bridge Inn and the Lord Combermere; The Priest house and Jinja Bakes coffee shops; a newsagents that sells everything; a post office; The Deli and Hoc's Fat Pigeon wholefood shop, bookshop and Vintage and recycled fashions: Mill crafts and gifts, and a butchers.

And not forgetting Mandi Boos fashions, two hairdressers, a chippy and kebab shops, The Flower Divas and the one and only Audlem Dry Cleaners. Also, as well as Audlem Cyclesports out for those wanting to work off the excesses of the Festival, there is also an upholsterers and interior designers on the main street, and nowhere is complete without the Co-operative Food Store.

The Festival uses the Scout & Guide Hall and the churches for various displays and musical events. Pretty much everyone is involved so take a look at the programme just to see how many local businesses there are and you get a great feel for the support in the place.
