Jenny and Mark Collis-Smith write to say: "Our son, WO1 (Bandmaster) Paul Collis-Smith' left Brine Leas School in July 1990 and joined the army in Sept 1990. He has worked very hard with his music and is now Bandmaster of the Lifeguards based in Windsor. He is married to Nicola and has 3 children (Charlotte 11, Abigail 9, and William 3). Last August he completed 2 years as Bandmaster of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment and is now currently serving back in this country, not only in Royal ceremonial duties but also working with the Band, teaching, conducting, and recruiting musicians."

"He will be taking part in 'Trooping of the Colour' on June 16th which, of course, will be televised. He only started his horseriding course in January this year and has now passed out as a fully competent horseman, not only just riding but also being able to play his trumpet on horseback, which he assures us is not easy!"
