Round one v Cheadle Heath

As you can see we have a goodly journey to Cheadle Hulme for this Sunday match .

The London scene

Sadly I am down in London on my way to Spain and having a belated birthday lunch with my son, Jonathan , Willow and Honesty -- my beautiful granddaughters who both live in London -- as that is where their work is. Same goes for Jonathan on the work front but he commuted in from Harpenden.
Right in the square mile that is the City if London with its history on all sides and now the towering skyscrapers all around with millions of shiny windows and miles of steel and aluminium . Dine expensively at Burger and Lobster in Threadneedle Street with the sight of the Tower Of London there before us .

But back to Cheshire

So a Coach hired to travel from Willaston at 08.45 with all players, wives and children under a three line whip as they say in parliament (that den of chaos) to be there on time and ready to roll.
Good journey in fine weather and arrive in good time .
Photo taken of the team in our away strip and as attached , looking good and full of earnest endeavour for the game .

Kick off at 11.00 and for the next half an hour play well .
Then the wheels come off the wagon
11.32 0-1
11.38 0-2 Kev Rodgers own goal
11.46 0-3
12.00 0-4
12.14 1-4 own goal
12.20 1-5
12.27 1-6
A somewhat ignominious end for the team . Perhaps I should book a weekend in the Tower!!
This , following on from last weeks drubbing, means we need to pick ourselves up fast and be ready in heart and mind for our very first home game next Sunday versus Sandbach .
A big lift in confidence needed and I hope some decent effort in training in the days to come .

Ed – So no Wembley appearance this year – never mind, now, as they say, we can concentrate on the League.
