Audlem Festival promises a feast of music and art

The 6th Audlem Festival runs this year from Friday 26th May to Monday 29th May.

Headline music acts include, on the Friday night at the Public Hall, the British Blues' hottest young talent, The Sean Webster Band – with gritty vocals, searing guitar work and lyrics that demonstrate he has lived more than his years, Sean Webster is taking the British Blues scene by storm. Also playing will be popular local band Big Blue House who continue to develop their growing reputation on the British Blues Scene. On the Saturday night, in the Public Hall, the main attraction is 'Lights Out by Nine'. This acclaimed Scottish band is setting out to conquer the South. This band keeps the dance floor packed and takes no prisoners!

With two acclaimed albums behind them, LOBN fill their sets with a fine mix of old classics and excellent self penned numbers. They will be supported by Afro Blue. Doors open 8.15pm with Afro Blue on Stage at 9.00pm. Tickets: £12 – telephone 01270 812834 or 07813 820157 or 07821 614782

There will be a full range of music acts in Blues Alley, the outdoor stage in Shropshire Street, the Shroppie Fly and the Lord Combermere. They include Rocking Horse; David Bristow; Back Row; Heavy Weather with exceptional blues guitarist, Jim Kirkpatrick; Terra Plane Blues; The Duffy Boys; Tim Disney & Donny Johnson; Mad Dog; Tom Doughty; With Bob on Our Side; Twin Frets; John Gunstone; Defense and Gillie Nichols.

The final night will see the traditional blues jam in the Shroppie Fly led by Audlem's favourite blues son, Jim Kirkpatrick. Last year's jam was such a great night it was a highlight of the Festival and is still being talked about.

Tomorrow, Audlem Online will feature some of the arts programme planned – there's an even greater variety than last year.
