Still reporting to you from sunny Spain and I am fed the blow by blow account of the game by manager Kev Mort . The magic of mobile phones and texting.

First home game of the season having aimed to let the playing field rest as much as possible through the closed season and to get new grass well rooted. Pitch freshly marked out by Cheshire East (ANSA) but grass is a tad long which is not so ideal. Rent demand from them received at £480 which we have to pay in the next few days which will make a huge hole in our finances. I am hopeful that I may get some help on this front soon.

A very good response from team members with 21 presenting themselves for selection now that school holidays are over . A headache for Kev Mort In selecting the first eleven, but we do have a rule of "roll on roll off" subs which allows teams to give as many players as possible the chance to play.

Good weather and a firm pitch now .
Referee Alex Jones. Annexe changing rooms booked. Showers immaculate.
Visiting team is Sandbach Town and we have invited them back to the Bridge Inn for refreshments after the game. Adam and Samara the new team running the pub are both up for hosting us, which very welcome .

So to the match...

11.00 Kick off

Good play and Audlem picking up from their good performances of last season .

11.02 1-0

We score , with a shot by ever running Danny Mahoney is turned in for an own goal . What a superb start

11.05 2-0

A great goal by one of our top scorers, Mark Parker !!

12.00 3-0

Will Cork passes and a fine goal by Andrew Betteley, another top scorer of the team. Wonderful feeling .
The wondrous game goes on. Bookings fir our opponents as the frustration builds within them. And Sandbach are no pushover.

12.13 4-0

Andrew(Beco) Betteley bright down . Penalty
Up steps Lewis Williams and converts

12.18 5-0

Wow. Yet more – Becco passes and new signing Kane Fletcher scores, with his first touch as he comes on as sub as Kev Mort uses all our subs.

Game over, and one very happy team troops off to showers etc .
Man of the Match as voted by our opponents . Is Lewis Williams .
Now that is better and a great way to start our home games . I stand the first round as all gather at the Bridge Inn in Audlem for the first of many home games .

Next game is also at home, versus Bridge Inn, of Haslington.
Do come along and give us your support .
