This wonderfully peaceful cemetery is widely acknowledged as being the best in all of Cheshire. In its layout and its fine flowing landscape. And the very caring maintenance of all areas.
A brief note as to its history. The land was bought in 1872 and then opened in 1874. The Victorian "Gothic Folly" style chapels have magnificent Minton tiled floors; unique timber beamed roofs are Grade 2 listed and as such protected.
Within the grounds we have some interesting trees. The Lebanese Cedar to the front of the Cemetery was planted in the years 1770-1780 and is one of the very finest example of this iconic tree in the whole county. The large Sequoia Giganteum Redwood tree, first inside the gate, with a height touching 80 feet, is very old and very healthy. The Lime tree by the tool shed was planted in 1810 in the reign of George III.
It is my pleasure and that of our small team of staff to work to ensure the careful upkeep of all to a very high standard for as long as we are alive.
If you any have any questions, I will be pleased to help.
