Cheshire East would like to inform you that we will be carrying out repair works to the north parapet of Audlem Bridge from 8th April 2024. The works will include removing the dislodged stone from the bridge and rebuilding the parapet using both the original stone and new stone where required.

The works will take approximately 3 weeks to complete, commencing on 8th April 2024 (excluding weekends):

A 24hr road closure will be located on A525 Whitchurch Road for the duration of the works (Monday to Friday), with the road being reopened for weekends. Under current Health & Safety legislation and for the safety of our workforce and members of the public, it will be necessary for a road closure to be in place during these works. We understand there is no right time to undertake this work however, the scheme has been carefully planned to minimise any inconvenience to you and other road users. Please note that we occasionally have to change our works at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances such as adverse weather conditions or logistics. There will be signage on street in advance of the work starting.

Our team will be working on the carriageway with machinery and vehicles in barriered areas to create safe working zones, in line with current Health & Safety legislation.

We will make every effort to maintain vehicle access to your property or business. However, due to the nature of the works some inconvenience may still occur. If you have any specific access requirements, please raise these with our site supervisor as soon as possible. Your safety and the safety of our workforce is our priority. Our Operatives will be supplied with CCTV cameras and they will assist you as the work progresses.

If you would like to discuss any aspects of the scheme or the work as it progresses, our on-site supervisor is your best point of contact. Alternatively, if you have an urgent enquiry relating to the works you can call us on 0300 123 5020
