As well as the excellent report and pictures on The Big Switch On in this week's Market Drayton Advertiser, there's another Audlem story on the sports page.

Audlem boxing prospect Jordan Green hopes to have his first amateur fight early next year. He is punching his weight with the help of a former amateur champion, Harry Knapper, who was the London and Midland Railway welterweight champion in 1949.

Jordan, 16, started boxing a year ago after encouragement from his parents and says Harry has taught him how to punch properly and tightened his guard. Jordan trains three times a week at Harry's Audlem home and is also studying engineering at Brine Leas Sixth Form.

There's a splendid photo in the newspaper of a young local talent who already has his eyes on the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Harry says: "Jordan is easy to work with because he does what he's told and I'm sure he'll go far if he does the hard work."
